SA Mom Blogs relaunch

#samomblogsrelaunch

When I heard about the SA Mom Blogs relaunch event last month I knew I just had to go. I haven’t been blogging as much as I would like to and have missed out on some of the previous events, which always end up being a whole lot of fun. Most importantly it is really motivating to hang out with other mom bloggers, a good way for the inspirational blogging vibes to rub off on this blogger :).

The morning of the event arrived wet, cold and gloomy. I was so pleased that Nico was home so that I could leave the kids with him. Not only because he had been travelling for two weeks and I really needed some me-time, but also because one or both of my kids tend to get super clingy around strangers making it impossible to participate in anything else. Imagine what it would’ve been like with the added complexity of rain!

It was raining as I arrived at the Free Range Lifestyle Centre so I was pleased to see that we were going to be seated inside The Lot, while breathing a sigh of relief when I recognised some of the ladies.

The Lot is one of my favourite places to go with the kiddos at the moment. It is up the road from us and has play areas for both my children’s age groups. They do enjoy playing in each other’s areas too, which I allow when it is not too crowded. Free Range has child minders for the littlies’ area, which helps to keep the children entertained and the squabbles to a minimum. The food is super yummy too.

As always, it was great seeing Wenchy and catching up with Heather, Laura and fellow homeschooling mom, Jolene. I also met the lovely Christine, Melanie, who is also a homeschooling mom, and Raquel from Fleishman Hillard.

Heather and Laura hosted a lovely event relaunching SA Mom Blogs. They had very exciting news too – they will be hosting the first ever SA Mom Blogs blogging conference in May next year! I cannot wait. I’ve been yearning to go to a blogging conference ever since I heard of those held in the USA, and drooled over the SA Food Bloggers conferences held in Cape Town.

Beauty Stop Dermalogica samples

#samomblogsrelaunch Beauty Stop goodies

In addition to the yummy snacks, including warm gooey chocolate muffins, and a beautiful cupcake favour complete with an SA Mom Blogs fridge magnet, we were treated to gift bags containing a Dermalogica Nighttime Recovery Trio sample pack and a discount voucher for a Dermalogica skin treatment from the newly launched The Beauty Stop. We were also invited to complimentary Dermalogica face mappings, which I would love to do but didn’t have the time for on the day, definitely going back soon.

All in all I had a fun time and went home feeling re-energised and ready to tackle my blog head on. I’m also looking forward to some serious SA mom blogs reading!
